Digha tour guide: The best adventure of digha

Digha is located in the East Midnapore district of West Bengal, India. It is one of the most popular beach destinations in the region, known for its gentle waves, wide sandy shores, and picturesque views of the Bay of Bengal. Often referred to as the “Brighton of the East,” Digha is a preferred destination for weekend getaways and family vacations.

DIGHA TOUR GUIDE

1. Transportation:

By Train: Digha is well-connected by train, with the Digha Flag Station (DGHA) serving as the main railway station. Trains from Kolkata and other major cities in West Bengal run frequently.

By Road: Digha is approximately 180 km from Kolkata, making it a 4-5 hour drive by car or bus. Regular buses operate from various points in Kolkata to Digha.

2. Beaches:

New Digha: Just a couple of kilometers away from Old Digha, New Digha is more modern and developed, with better accommodation options and a cleaner beach. It’s a quieter alternative to the bustling Old Digha.

Talsari Beach: Located near the Odisha border, this beach is known for its red crabs and estuary.

 Old Digha Beach: This is the more crowded part of Digha, offering a bustling atmosphere with food stalls and shops. Be cautious of strong currents here.

Amarabati Park: A nice place for a family outing with gardens and a small lake where you can go boating.

 Chandaneswar Temple: Located near the Odisha border, it’s a well-known pilgrimage site.

 Digha Science Centre: A small but interesting place for science enthusiasts, with various exhibits and a planetarium.

4. Activities:

 Water Sports: Some of the beaches, like New Digha, offer water sports such as jet skiing and speed boating.

 Boat Ride: Enjoy a boat ride on the lake in this well-maintained park, which also has beautiful gardens and a ropeway.

 Shopping: Visit the local markets for seashell handicrafts, souvenirs, and fresh seafood.

5. Cuisine:
